What is it that makes a Sony Bravia such a good watch?
Well...our parent site at Planet LED TV have spoken with some of the people at Sony in Canada to find out their take in the "Tech" that makes them so darned good.
Sony Bravia Features - you can read the full report by clicking the link.
But, in short, it's Sony's huge investment in image processing and how they apply that to every phase of the pictures you see on your screen's development. Yes, things like the Bravia Engine (image processor) help, as do the auto focus and screen brightner in 3D mode, but it's the overall package. It's the way the technology comes together to make the Sony Bravia a stand out 3D TV in every aspect.
Just look at the picture quality and I'm sure you will be won over! Certainly active 3D has an advantage over passive in terms of the 3D image quality and also the 3D area covered. And Sony have been very diligent in the way they have developed their 3D glasses for optimum 3D viewing (read the article for a full explanation - click here).
The downside with a Bravia, though, is the cost. A top end 55 inch will cost you over $3,000. A top end LG Cinema 3D TV will cost just over half that amount. Yes, they will do a fine job, but there is no doubt a Sony will offer that bit of extra quality, albeit "at the margin".
Anyway, I hope you find this and the full article helpful if you're currently in the market for a new 3D TV.

Vizio M3D TV Range
Hi Again,It's a while since I posted here, but I thought I'd just put a note out about the new range of 3D TV sets from Vizio. Now, you probably know that Vizio caused a storm with theirXT Range when they added a 480Hz set to the range.
Yep, it totally caught out bad set makers and slopy CGI producers because the image was so good it showed up all the flaws! Well done Vizio I say! But hey, that's in the past and mopre 480Hz sets are now creeping into the market (so get your act together you CGI Boys).
So, what about the M3D range?
Well, it's like this...superb 3D TV sets at a fraction of the price of the big boys. Talk about a market destabalization strategy - that is exactly what Vizio are up to I reckon.
These 3D TV sets are superb!
Cinema (so not clunky active shutter glasses), Smart with a stack of apps and functionality and great pictures...and a 55 Inch monster TV for just over a thousand bucks.

The speed of change in the world of HD TV is as fast as ever as the new ranges of Smart TVs hit the streets and at the front of the pack are the latest Sony TV With Internet sets They actually do result in something unique to your home and present new and rich entertainment for your entire family.
In my view what Sony have here is something a somewhat distinctive. Once more, Sony is at the forefront of TV technology with their excellent XBR range. This new range merges the latest in Sony HD image quality with the highest speeds in Internet connection available. Including their own integral browsers and Wi-Fi incorporated they offer a complete variety of new online content for you including a smart search capability which permits you to to find content online much more rapidly.
If you had been an early adopter with HD Tv you are going to know how awkward the early sets had been to setup, the new Sony Internet Tv is truly straightforward! Setting up the world wide web on a Sony XBR is a snap, a plug and play process which can be effortlessly explained in the service manual. Users can even setup DVD or Blu-Ray players with ease and nonetheless have the world wide web connected.
Indeed, any of these Sony Television with Internet can offer you all the World wide web has to offer from an entertainbment perspective. With Internet Tv, you are able to watch on-demand videos and films (Netflix, Amazon Video on demand), together with your favorite YouTube channels. You can also access every thing from on-line music to the weather report.
And, for the first time it is possible to watch all of your World-wide-web content in complete 1080p HD which brings it alive with a new dimension and beauty.Watching on-line films or missed tv shows has become a a lot more pleasurable experience. It is fantastic to be in a position to watch this content material from the comfort of my normal Television chair instead of hunched over my laptop screen.
These incredible new Sony TV with Internet also allow you to play on line games now with a new visual quality (and in 3D in some cases). The most recent range of Sony televisions with internet is staggering. The XBR range has every feature imaginable all backed up with Sony's best etchnology. Not simply that, but to also make it comparatively uncomplicated to use and enjoy! A crucial function I think.
Having only recently experienced Intelligent Tv for an extended period, I genuinely think the new Internet Television sets can bring households closer with each other in a number of ways. Not only do they act as a household entertainment hub for the home, they are able to also allow you to connect around the globe. The new Sony Internet Television offers the normal social tools like Facebook and Twitter, but they also offer you Skype in glorious HD, so you may actually sit in front of the Tv and speak to friends the other side of the world as if they were in the same room! It really is quite outstanding.
Talking of social networking the XBR range even makes that easy. So you not only get complete access to your favorite social network, you also get inclusive apps to make use and tracking super-easy.
But, the main reason you buy a brand new Television is the picture - what's the picture quality like? After all, I know the main reason I buy a T.V is always to watch my preferred shows and motion pictures in High Def or 3D.
I have seen a great deal of the Sony XBR range of 3D TV sets and they're extremely, extremely impressive. First up, I've to say, you might pay just a little more to get a Sony TV, but you do get quality.
The XBR range incorporates all the most current Sony image technology like Motion Flow 960 for excellent image stability, even throughout fast action sequences, local dimming for gorgeous and deep blacks meaning extraordinary contrast. And, every single set rewards from (wait for it) Corning Gorilla Glass, which is supposed to make your screen brighter and a lot more vibrant.
The bottom line, though, is what exactly is it like to watch?
Well, the bottom line is you a amazing viewing experience. I have been viewing and reviewing HD Television sets for almost 5 years now, and yet, when something as great as this arrives, I'm still awestruck by the pictures these sets create. There is certainly no doubt the Sony XBR range is outstanding and gets best marks from me. The fact that the set opens up all the World-wide-web content material is just the jewel within the crown and makes this an overall entertainment experience of the highest quality and 1 I completely recommend

New News Feed on Planet LED TV Reviews
Hi Guys,
Planet LED TV have just put a new LED TV Review newsfeed on their site which gathers the latest news and information on new LED and 3D TV releases and combines them all in to one convenient place.
This is a great idea and along with their superb and in depth LED TV Reviews it makes Planet LED TV THE place to have bookmarked if you're thinking of getting yourself a new HD TV.
They tend to review just LED TV sets and 3D TV sets, steering away from plain LCD and Plasma sets.
To be honest, if you're going for a new TV, with the way prices are now coming down, it really has to be a LED TV. They are crisper, clearer, have none of the inherent problems of straight forward LCD or Plasma...and last much longer to boot.
Anyway, do get along and have a look at their latest LED TV Related Articles newsfeed. I had a look this morning and there is news about the new Panasonic range and the new Samsung 8000 series Smart TV sets.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers now

Is 3D TV Finished
Only two years ago, when Avatar hit the silver screens, filmgoers viewed 78% of their motion pictures in the U.K in 3D. The figures for the most recent six months show that figure at a depressing 40%. Avatar was supposed to be the take-off point for 3D. I only watched it in 3D on a TV and not at the movies, but I was impressed! The BBC furthermore cite the price collapse on Nintendo 3DS consoles these have been price-cut by £100 in the U.K. That's as maybe, but, in my estimation, this is a vastly different marketplace. I do not think you can actually compare 3DS sales alongside 3D TV sales in any way shape or form.
What is worrying though is sluggish sales of 3D TV sets from around Great Britain. Exactly the same is happening here in the U.S also. Undoubtedly Europe has major monetary troubles yet again with the state of affairs in the Eurozone. That is certainly dragging the U.K down with it. Equally we are not lacking problems either sadly. I query if this is not an alternative of a basis of the 3D TV sales slowdown.
The BBC assessment also highlights a study from California State University which discovered the following. "People who watch 3D TV are three times more likely to suffer from headache, eye strain or blurred vision". I really can not be in agreement with that based on my own experiences. To offset against that I need to come clean and say I do not have a 3D TV of my very own right now, so I don't stare at 3D content for extended periods.
In addition, the fact there is even now comparatively little 3D matter possibly makes such findings a little unnecessary. And, I reckon the majority of people (me included) would get some kind of suffering for watching TV for 12 hours with no break! You would probably suffer the same following 12 hours ordinary TV or gaming also. You must compare eggs with eggs is all I am saying!
A further proposal which I am apt to concur with is that 3D isn't completely right so far and that there was always going to be a decline of interest after the early demand was satisfied. A Guy named Chris Park from Vision 3 in the U.K (they counsel the film industry on issues 3D) has confirmed he believes not even motion pictures like Avatar got 3D "right".
To be fair he qualifies that by saying he merely thinks 3D is yet to fulfil its potential. Maybe this is fair comment and I have heard Martin Scorcese is certainly pushing the 3D boundaries in production of his new movie "Hugo".
Ben Kingsley stars and has gone out of his way to heap superlatives on Scorcese's manipulation of 3D. I understand there will be a number of new 3D techniques like taking you "in" to the center of a crowd of people.
To respond the initial question, is 3D done? I think not, it's just taking a rest whilst the next wave of buyers take stock of the 3D TV scene to date.

LG TV 55LW6500 55 Inch 3D TV
